Universal Furniture announces additions to their corporate sales management team. AJ Filloy and Drew Ward have been named regional vice presidents and will began their respective roles February 1.
Filloy joins Universal after working at Chateau d’Ax U.S.A., where he served as a regional sales manager covering the western United States. He began his career in sales as a representative on the east coast and in the Midwest before moving to California in 2008. Filloy has worked with Universal over the last several years, helping handle Williams Sonoma as an original equipment manufacturer business for Universal’s Conover factory. He grew up in the Pittsburgh area, graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and received his masters at NYU. He will handle the northern region for Universal.
Ward, an internal hire, began his career at Universal in 2017 as a sales trainee. He started in the field in the northern California/ Nevada territory where he increased the business nearly 80 percent in the first year. He then moved back east and has represented the company in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Ward was Universal’s 2020 Salesperson of the Year. He is a graduate of Millsaps College where he was a four-year student athlete. Ward will handle the southern region for Universal.
“It was an extensive search to ensure we found the best people for the job,” said Senior Vice President of Sales Sean O’Connor. “We feel strongly that the combination of Drew’s internal knowledge and AJ’s outside experience will make us stronger as a team.”
Both Filloy and Ward will work from the High Point office and report to O’Connor.
