International Market Centers (IMC) has announced the hiring of Monique Honaman as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), joining IMC’s executive leadership team with responsibility for all aspects of human resources strategy. Reporting directly to IMC CEO Bob Maricich, she will work closely with the executive leadership team to ensure IMC continues to build a culture that attracts, retains and develops top talent.

“As IMC refines its customer-centric approach to the omnichannel market experience, we are glad to welcome Monique to IMC leadership to manage our most valuable asset: our teammates,” said Maricich. “Her experience has prepared her to more fully develop our talent and establish a performance-driven company culture.”
Honaman joins IMC as it is rapidly expanding its workforce, driven by growth of its new digital innovations division as it prepares to launch JuniperMarket – a new B2B ecommerce marketplace for the gift, home and apparel industries – this spring. The Digital Division has added 100+ employees in the past 120 days to support both JuniperMarket as well as its Juniper suite of digital sales and marketing solutions (JuniperWeb, JuniperData, JuniperCRM and JuniperSales). These new IMC team members join 400+ employees who produce IMC’s 23 yearly markets and trade shows and manage its design and market centers year-round.

“I am passionate about the various environments that IMC offers to bridge buyers with sellers. I’m looking forward to working with this great team – all of whom have a terrific reputation and who lead with integrity and values – and I’m eager to be a part of building an exceptional company of enduring value,” said Honaman. “My goal is create an environment where our team members love to come to work, where they feel valued and rewarded for the work they do, where they derive great satisfaction in serving our customers and where they each have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.”

Additionally, Honaman will be an active member of IMC’s Diversity and Inclusion Network, an internal task force compromised of 12 employees across the company’s departments and campuses. The Network seeks to achieve four primary goals: create community for diverse professionals at IMC; develop programming and forums addressing diversity, inclusion, human rights and social justice; implement policy changes at IMC supporting diversity and equal opportunities for advancement; and provide a platform for thought leadership in the gift, home furnishings and apparel industries.

Honaman comes to IMC from 21 years at Incite Strategies, Inc. (ISHR Group), where she was the CEO and Founding Partner, responsible for providing executive assessment, development and coaching services to corporate and private equity/portfolio companies globally. Previously, she worked in Human Resources at General Electric and General Motors. She brings a unique experience to the role, having been an exhibitor at Atlanta Market.

Honaman graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology, holds a Master of Human Resources and Labor Relations from Michigan State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School. She holds a certificate from the UC-Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute. Additionally, Honaman is a Board member of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, chairing its Board Development Committee, and is an alumna and active volunteer with Leadership Atlanta and Leadership Georgia.

Honaman is based at IMC’s Atlanta office at AmericasMart Atlanta with responsibilities for its five campuses (Chantilly, VA; High Point, NC; Juno Beach, FL; and Las Vegas).
