ELK Group International announced today that David Pamer has been named Chief Executive Officer. Pamer will be taking over the role of ELK’s long time CEO, Bradford Smith, who has been promoted to Chairman of the Board.
Pamer brings with him both a leadership and functionally diverse background, starting his career in investment banking for six years prior to joining Cleveland, OH-based Kichler Lighting as its CFO, and then expanding his Kichler experience into other disciplines where he held the positions of Executive Vice President, Supply Chain and Executive Vice President, Sales.
In these roles, Pamer was responsible for the analysis, design, development and execution of a comprehensive supply chain strategy, and later responsible for the development and execution of a sales management strategy and structure to accomplish market share and organic growth in the company’s designated core and strategic growth distribution channels.
In his role at ELK, Pamer will work with owners, Mark Fludgate and Bradford Smith, to develop and implement a thoughtful growth strategy that leverages an already strong foundation built both through organic and acquisition growth. Additionally, his supply chain and analytical background will be instrumental in ensuring foundational processes and core disciplines are implemented for the company to be consistent and reliable in the customer experience as they achieve new growth levels.
“I’m thrilled that Dave will be joining our team, he possesses a high business IQ and has an impressive record of delivering innovative growth strategies with high level execution throughout his career,” notes Smith. “With over 15,000 SKUs in a wide range of home furnishing categories, our collective company has the depth and breadth across a myriad of price points that is unrivaled from any one company. Our focus is to create the gold standard in the home furnishing’s industry for product selection, service and delivery."
“I’m very pleased to be presented with this opportunity to work with both a leadership and growth-oriented company like ELK, who I have known and admired over the years from competing with them. We are excited about the growth prospects ahead for the company, however our first responsibility as we look to develop and execute our growth strategy will be to ensure that the focus be on our customers’ experience with ELK, so that we become their first choice for helping grow their respective businesses. That is a reputation that is earned over time, and I am confident with the team we have, we will achieve this focused objective,” Pamer said.
ELK’s executive team will be attending High Point Market this week to introduce Pamer to customers and sales representatives at their newly remodeled showroom at IHFC Suite 402/403.
