Currey & Company has announced three executive promotions, elevating Jenny Heinzen York and Pamela Bailey to Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Product Development, respectively. The third promotion elevates Kerri Shay Curtis to Director of Sales.
Jenny Heinzen York, VP of Marketing
Heinzen York joined the Atlanta-based manufacturer of fine lighting, furniture and decor in 2019 as Director of Marketing. In her newly expanded role as VP of Marketing, she assumes executive management for all areas of brand awareness, as well as growth initiatives across new and existing channels of distribution. With a focus on strategic marketing efforts and business development, she will utilize her extensive knowledge of home décor retail, interior design, e-commerce and B2B to further expand Currey’s reach in the marketplace.
Brownlee Currey, President and CEO of the company shares: “Jenny has made a strong impact on our company and our business, especially in 2020 when our marketing voice has never been more important. I’m eager to see the continued evolution of our marketing program and I could not be more excited welcome Jenny as an officer of our company. She is and will be a great long-term contributor as our business begins to change.”
“I’m incredibly honored to take on this new role at Currey & Company, and I take my part in the company’s future success strategy very seriously,” Heinzen York said. “The Currey family and organization represent the best of what this industry has to offer – innovation, leadership, service, beautiful products and exquisite merchandising – and I am excited every day to be a part of it.”
Heinzen York came to Currey from AmericasMart, where she served as Vice President of Home Marketing prior to the Mart’s acquisition by IMC. There she oversaw new business initiatives, content creation, exhibitor relationships and daily design trade marketing strategy for the home furnishings business segment.
She also spent 20 years in editorial roles with the Home Accents Today and Furniture Today family of brands, most notably as Editor in Chief of Home Accents Today for 10 years. During her tenure there, she led the magazine brand through a series of ownership changes, increased publishing frequency, and into the digital and events spaces.
Pamela Bailey, VP of Product Development
Pamela Bailey has been promoted to Vice President of Product Development for Currey & Company. In her new role, Bailey will assume executive responsibility for the full Currey collection, overseeing the product design and development process, assortment strategy, global sourcing, and category growth and management.
Bailey brings more than 20 years of experience in omni-channel retail, wholesale and design trade, with much of her career spent at Crate&Barrel. There she served as a Regional Vice President, with responsibility for all C&B stores, cb2 stores and outlets in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut Tri-State area, prior to a management role in product development, where she managed the design program for accent tables and case goods.
“Pam brings a unique perspective with her thorough understanding of the end user and consumer, as well as the retailer and wholesaler relationship,” said Brownlee Currey, president and CEO of the company.
Bailey joined Currey in January 2019, initially as Director of Showrooms and later as Director of Product Development Process & Assortment Strategy for the company’s lighting collections. Award-wining product designer and veteran of Currey’s product development department, Tom Caldwell says: “Pam is full of energy and enthusiasm for product design. She has vast experience, is organized, and really enjoys developing new ideas. Her congenial personality fits well with our design team and I know that both she and Currey & Company will flourish in the coming years.”
After leaving Crate&Barrel in 2016, Bailey did independent consulting work in product development and design for overseas furniture factories, helping them to create showroom- ready designs, materials and finishes for their customers, as well as launching brands and collections within the U.S. marketplace.
“I am delighted to lead Currey & Company’s talented team of product designers for this great company with such meaningful heritage and culture during this pivotal time in our industry,” said Bailey.
Kerri Shay Curtis, Director of Sales
Before joining Currey & Company, Kerri Shay Curtis spent more than 15 years in the retail and wholesale industry learning all aspects of the business in sales, management, and procurement. Her expertise in customer service and sales led her to the position of Sales Operations Manager for Currey & Company in 2013. With advancement in technology, her role in the company expanded to include mastering new sales systems in the company’s headquarters and showrooms.
In her new role, Curtis will be developing new service systems and streamlining the company’s efficiency while interfacing with customers, showrooms, and staff along with assisting department heads to create effective systems to service the customers and to continue the company’s policy of being “easy to do business with.”
Bob Ulrich, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, shares: “I am very pleased to have Kerri on our team. She has been with Currey & Company for eight years and has demonstrated the willingness and ability to lead our sales organization through many changes. This new position will allow her to have a greater reach and influence our overall structure and processes.”
Curtis shares, “With my many years in the home décor industry, I have truly found my home with Currey & Company. They have allowed me to explore and expand my talent and, in the process, I have flourished. I am thrilled at the opportunity to continue to expand my skills and look forward to continue working with such a great company.”
