The American Lighting Association (ALA) has announced the hiring of Linda Longo as Communications Coordinator on a part-time basis. Longo brings more than three decades of industry experience to ALA’s professional staff and will support member communications and engagement emphasizing the association’s programs, training, and benefits as well as consumer relations.
Longo has been a member of ALA since 1994, when she began covering the residential lighting community for industry trade magazines. She served as editor-in-chief of Home Lighting & Accessories magazine for 17 years and co-founded enLIGHTenment magazine with lighting veteran Ace Rosenstein in 2011. Longo has been attending ALA Conferences and covering the major lighting shows for nearly 30 years, and has served as a frequent judge in the Integrated Home Competition, co-sponsored by ALA.
In addition to her work for ALA, Longo will continue to report upon industry happenings for enLIGHTenment as well as US Lighting Trends newsletter. She also supports various industry members in content creation.
“We are excited to have Linda formally join the ALA team,” said ALA President and CEO Larry Lauck. “Linda has long been a valuable asset to ALA and the industry, making her an obvious choice to add to our team as we focus on expanding and enhancing ALA’s programs and member benefits.”
“The residential lighting community has a special place in my heart,” said Longo. “I love the people who make up this unique part of the industry and feel like family. I look forward to assisting ALA to the best of my abilities.”
