Ultrasuede HP, the original high-performance material, has added 14 colors to its luxury upholstery-weight offering, based on color direction trending in interior decor.
The new palette was conceived by design consultant Kimberle Frost, in collaboration with the Ultrasuede brand sales and marketing team.
“Dealers and designers tell us they need to be responsive to current color schemes for interiors,” says Helen Brier, Sales and Marketing Manager, Toray Ultrasuede. “We are excited to work with a professional colorist to help us deliver on that goal.”
Frost, known for her expertise in the interiors and design segments, sought inspiration for the new collection from current market trends.
“Building upon the existing Ultrasuede foundation, the new color collection includes soft washed pastels or colored neutrals, along with rich, saturated hues that highlight the overall palette,” says Frost. “The 14 new hues break down into four main color categories, including earthy greens, soft pinks, watery blues and a fresh mix of more complex shades such as Chartreuse, Marigold, Raisin and Plum.
All colors are in-stock in the company’s distribution center in Fort Lawn, SC, where furniture manufacturer orders ship within 48 hours of receipt.
Ultrasuede is the only high-performance upholstery cover with a luxurious, suede-like hand. Consumer brand name recognition exceeds 40 percent in a recent survey. In 2015, the company successfully integrated partially plant-based polyester in the material’s composition. The target timing for 100 percent plant-based composition is to be announced.
