Casa Italia, the landmark showroom building uniting Italy’s strongest home brands in the heart of the High Pont Market, has set a grand opening for October 16, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m.
As Jason Camp, president of Natuzzi Americas relates, a crucial aspect of “Italianness expresses itself in food with unique gastronomic paths in the world. Since Casa Italia is designed to bring Italianness to the world, as part of this special evening, our guests will enjoy tantalizing Italian food and drink offerings on every floor prepared by chefs specially chosen for this occasion. Among the highlights will be a selection of Italian wines, espresso and, of course, a signature drink, the Bellini, in honor of the architect, Mario Bellini of Milan, Italy, who designed this iconic building.”
For the first time ever this Market, the building will offer a curated shopping experience that makes it easy to shop for Made in Italy products from multiple exhibitors. Among these are Calia Italia, Calligaris, Connubia, Ditre Italia, Gamma Arredamenti, Luceplan, Natuzzi Italia, Natuzzi Editions, Nicoletti Home and Tomasella. Each manufacturer in this consortium of Italian brands is globally recognized as a leader in their categories, and all the companies share similar roots.
According to Pasquale Natuzzi, founder and chairman of Natuzzi, “We are Italians and proud of it. We live in a country with an immense heritage of culture, art, history, and landscape, and as manufacturers we have long taken inspiration from the beauty that has always surrounded us. In Casa Italia we are working to share that beauty with High Point, drawing on a legacy that only Italy can offer, and a heritage without equal anywhere else in the world.”
Casa Italia will feature the Drew Hays Jazz Quintet. The group will perform classic standards made memorable by Italian American artists, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennet and more. The instrumental group is led by Dr. Drew Hays, director of jazz at Guilford College, with Matt Reid on piano, Gabe Dansereau on guitar, Aaron Gross on bass, and Wiley Sykes on drums. All are professors of music at Guilford College.
“We are very excited and looking forward to introducing dealers and designers to the passion, power and synergy that Casa Italia represents,” says Jay Moore, marketing and communications director at Natuzzi Americas. “This grand opening celebration is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to open our doors next week to say, ‘Benvenuto a casa nostra!’”
