High-end furniture manufacturer Marge Carson announced the sale of the company’s High Point showroom building at 121 N. Hamilton St., according to Jim LaBarge, CEO and owner of the Pomona, CA-based luxury furnishings brand. The 50,542-square-foot piece of real estate is located within the high-end North Hamilton Street corridor. This sale coincides with a strong High Point real estate market, where many new and old exhibitors have built and invested in recent years. The transaction is scheduled to close on Nov. 1, 2019.
Marge Carson, one of the world's largest and oldest privately owned fine furniture companies, will continue to produce upholstery, casegoods, accent furniture and luxury bedding ensembles for its high-end clientele, and will show at its existing showroom in High Point during the fall High Point Market Oct. 18-22. The company will relocate to a new showroom beginning April 2020.
“The offer to acquire our showroom was compelling, and it will allow us to move to a more intimate location for serving our retail and designer customers. Our new product introductions this fall are exciting, and we are confident this move will propel us nicely into 2020 and beyond,” stated Jim LaBarge, adding that the company’s team looks forward to seeing retail and designer clients in a few weeks.
