The American Lighting Assn. (ALA) and Lighting One are partnering to provide educational sessions on business and housing during June Lightovation in Dallas.
ALA members who are not members of Lighting One are now welcome to attend educational sessions at the 2016 Lighting One Convention being held Monday, June 20 from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at the Downtown Marriott City Center in Dallas for free.
“It is my belief that the two most important benefits from the ALA Conference are education and networking,” says Gregg Garofalo, President of Lighting One. “Personally, it was a catalyst for my career and relationships with many showroom owners and staff. That said, Lighting One welcomes all ALA showroom members to attend the Monday educational session at the 2016 Lighting One Convention. It’s a great way to continue to strengthen the partnership with ALA and the commitment to the industry.”
2-3:15 p.m.: Keynote speaker Randy Pennington will give a talk titled “Make Change Work,” detailing the shift that has occurred in how business is conducted. The session will provide tools to help leaders and organizations meet the challenges of continuous change.
3:30-4:15 p.m.: Guest speaker Matt Belcher of the National Homebuilders Assoc., and Chairman of the Green Building & Energy Sub-Committee will present “The Future of Home Building is Now….”. Attendees can get up-to-date information on lighting trends in new construction; homebuilding industry market trends and forecasting; national average lighting allowance; LED trends; automation; and proposed changes to the 2018 Energy Code.
4:15-5:30 p.m.: Special guest speaker Mark Brunetz, international design expert and Emmy Award-winning co-host of “Clean House,” will share the story that led him from a pro-bono project in South Africa to co-founding the first-ever community-driven designer movement in the United States and Canada. In its first three years, this campaign has transformed more than 50 spaces and contributed more than $1 million goods and services.
Space is limited, only 100 seats are available.
