IKEA and its research and design lab SPACE10 today launched an online platform to explore the ways tomorrow’s technologies redefine the way we live at home. The platform at EverydayExperiments.com gathers some of the most interesting technology and design studios to showcase a series of digital experiments that explore new ways of how we interact with the spaces we live in.
The explorative, surprising and playful experiments can be perceived on the platform that demonstrates how our homes can be experienced in extraordinary ways through the means of technology. Conducted by some of the world’s most innovative design and technology studios, the experiments focus on AI, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality and cutting-edge Spatial Intelligence.
The experiments include an augmented reality Room Editor that allows the user to virtually try out new furniture and reorganize without lifting a finger in real life. Another is an Optical Soundsystem that allows you to see the music traveling through your home, enabling consumers to design their rooms so that they can maximize enjoyment before making investments in furniture and home theater systems. In addition, the opportunity to play and explore with the space before making physical changes or investments helps people imagine new ways of using space.

Through projects with forward-thinking collaborators, IKEA and SPACE10 aim to design innovative solutions for tomorrow. EverydayExperiments.com is a platform where design and technology studios come together to engage, spark discussions, challenge convention and inspire action through new collaborations. The experiments have been developed with the intention to create a better everyday life at home.
