A furniture retailer, two interior designers and a consumer were named winners of a social media contest sponsored by Hooker Furniture and sister companies Bradington-Young and Sam Moore Furniture in celebration of the fall High Point Market. The four, selected from 306 entrants who tagged a photo on Instagram featuring one of the three brands, received $100 Starbucks gift cards.
Trevin Boucher, Director of Marketing at the Norcross, GA-based Atlanta Design Group, and Nina Rand, a consumer in Michigan, both tagged Hooker Furniture pieces. Rand tagged a picture of a room designed by Elizabeth Roebuck and Crystal Silva of Feige’s Interiors in Saginaw, MI. Deirdre Sanders, a Charlotte, NC, interior designer, tagged a Bradington-Young product, while an interior designer in Greensboro, NC, won for her tag of a Sam Moore product.
The contest was launched Oct. 13 – the opening day of the High Point Market – and concluded Oct. 31. Market attendance was not required to enter, but Boucher and the Greensboro interior designer tagged photos that were shot in the Hooker Furniture and Sam Moore showrooms, respectively.
“The contest generated a record number of entries and created significant social media buzz for these brands at market,” said Johne Albanese, Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Hooker Furniture. “It was an excellent way to communicate the value of these design-driven brands to the design community, traditional home furnishings retailers and consumers.”
