Hooker Furniture announced this week that it raised $41,386 to benefit Grace Network and the Salvation Army of Martinsville-Henry County through a recent warehouse sale.
The sale was held at the company’s customer service center located in Martinsville, VA. Hooker Furniture employees and community volunteers helped promote and put on the event where residents were invited to shop deals on home furnishings.
“Our warehouse sale has quickly become one of our most popular charitable initiatives in our community,” said Paul B. Toms, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hooker Furniture Corp. “Our community looks forward to this bi-annual sale not only because it provides them with the opportunity to purchase quality furniture at a discounted rate, but also because it supports the many charitable foundations in our local area.”
Grace Network helps clients who have fallen into a financial crisis connect with resources in the community. Some of the funds will help with purchasing items for the nonprofit’s food pantry.
Proceeds for the Salvation Army support its mission of supporting the community through its programs and ministries.
