Artist René Romero Schuler has announces a partnership with Relativity Textiles, aimed at extending her art-inspired collection of wallpapers and fabrics to homeowners and designers interested in featuring her work through decor. Relativity Textiles is a Chicago-based manufacturing company specializing in the fabrication of globally inspired textiles and founded by visual artist Erin Minckley. Under Relativity Textiles’ representation, Schuler’s collection will offer a variety of motifs featuring her exquisite mark-making and impasto painting technique, primarily focused on feminine figurines.

Relativity Textiles offers wallpapers, fabric, art prints and rugs with Minckley’s drawings as the basis of every unique design. Schuler’s textile line is part of Relativity Textiles’ recently launched “Relativity Collective,” a cohort established to empower various creatives to showcase their artwork through a different medium; Schuler’s collection is the first artist-owned brand partnership for Relativity Textiles. Internationally represented by galleries and museums, Schuler’s work is directly connected to her strong belief in the power of femininity and speaks to the complexities of the human condition and the spirit that connects all beings.

“Erin is extraordinarily talented and a true expert of the industry, so having my collection with Relativity Textiles is a dream come true,” says Schuler. “As an extension of my art that means so much to me, the wallcoverings and fabrics bring an elegant and feminine touch to the home, and beyond.”

Now available for purchase, wallcoverings from the collection include Bavette, Charlotte, Eponymous, Flutter, Hannah, Juju, Leeta, Marigold, and Nadia – inspired by art pieces from Schuler — and are additionally available as fabrics. The designs add a whimsical yet luxe element to residential or commercial spaces and are made in Chicago, where Schuler resided for most of her life before moving to Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, in 2022. Schuler continues her practice in her downtown Monterey studio.

“It’s always been a goal of mine to showcase other creative forces under the label of Relativity Textiles,” says Minckley. “I’m truly passionate about empowering other women to become the CEO of their own product lines, and with René’s collection as the first reveal, I’m excited for what’s next in the Relativity Collective. Her work has a universal appeal and can be incorporated in almost any space.”
