AMEICO, a distributor of historical and contemporary functional objects, announced the launch of its Virtual Lighting Exhibition video showcasing three new international lighting brands now represented by the company: BEEM, Made by Hand and Le Klint. Originally set to launch at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) this May, AMEICO swiftly pivoted gears to produce a digital exhibition that highlights the craftsmanship, warmth and beauty of these three collections from its New Milford, CT store location. The new brands were selected by AMEICO based on the quality and value they bring to global lighting design and their ability to complement AMEICO's current lighting collection.
"We are thrilled to share our virtual presentation of BEEM, Le Klint, Made by Hand as well as several additional lighting brands we carry. While not a replacement to the exposure or interaction we would have experienced at ICFF, we certainly hope it gives architects, designers and media a better understanding of our new offerings and our brand story," comments Jeannette Purdy, General Manager of AMEICO.
BEEM
BEEM, a British lighting company is a collaboration between award-winning industrial designer Samuel Wilkinson and experienced lighting entrepreneurs Chris Stimson and Bujar Shkodra. With a shared desire to revolutionize LED light bulb design, the trio designed the BEEM collection of modern, nuanced and graphic bulbs. Designed to be endlessly configurable and engineered to emit a constant (and dimmable) warm glow, BEEM bulb designs are bold, playful and graphic. BEEM lights are each made by hand from the highest quality components; BEEM uses raw, honest materials - utilizing the highest quality borosilicate glass for the brand's SMILE bulbs, the latest LED filaments, industrial ceramic for moulded parts and polycarbonate for twisting forms.
Made By Hand
Made By Hand is a Danish brand that celebrates luxury in craftsmanship. Always guided by a passion for natural materials and permanence, Made By Hand creates designs characterized by beautiful details and timeless personality. The brand's lighting collections available in North America through AMEICO include the Knit-Wit collection and the Workshop Lamp collection. The knitted materiality of the Knit-Wit collection distributes light through yarn patterns, making each light distinctive and decorative. The Workshop Lamp collection takes the original design from A. Wedel-Madsen to create a design that in style, expression and function, unites modern and contemporary design values.
Le Klint
Le Klint is a Danish lighting brand that has been globally recognized for its commitment to craftsmanship since its inception in the 1940s. Beginning with Danish architect and engineer P.V. Jensen-Klint's hand-pleated shade, constructed to soften the blaze of a paraffin oil lamp, the company has contributed to the history of design and lighting technology across the 20th century and into the 21st. The pleated lamp shade in paper and lampfoil is still at the heart of the 75+ year old company. Craftsmanship of the cross pleated lamp shade is unique and a handicraft that is mastered at Le Klint's original pleating studio in Odense, Denmark.
All three brands are committed to practicing sustainable design and manufacturing, another reason for their inclusion in AMEICO's curated collection of global lighting brands including Midgard, Nyta, Original BTC, Studio Cheha, &Tradition, Yamagiwa, Asano and Santa & Cole. With a growing range of lighting solutions, AMEICO has launched a dedicated lighting website for ease of browsing, access to drawings and spec sheets: www.ameicolighting.com.
