Universal has expanded its RTS program.

Universal Furniture, known for its stylish and affordable furniture offerings and design solutions, will unveil its expanded Ready-to-Ship (RTS) upholstery program during October High Point Furniture Market. With domestic and imported fabrications, it provides customers with the ability to receive upholstered furniture in a matter of days.

“Our RTS program is a game-changer for our customers,” said Rick Lovegrove, Vice President of Upholstery at Universal Furniture. “By offering a range of frames already fitted with fabric, we can significantly reduce the delivery time and provide our customers with the immediate gratification they desire and their consumers demand.”

Universal Furniture's RTS program offers a wide selection of frames, featuring chairs, sofas and ottomans in both domestic and international options. The furniture in the program, which includes 40 upholstery frames in styles including swivel chairs and statement sofas, is produced domestically in Conover, N.C., and also in the company’s Vietnam facility. This strategic combination allows Universal to meet the needs of customers who prefer American-made products while also catering to those requiring quick shipments for larger orders.

The collection, stocked in the High Point warehouse, is available for the 2024 holiday season. Domestic orders can be shipped in time for seasonal gatherings, a win for the company's interior designer customers looking to complete client projects before the end of the year.
In addition to the RTS program, Universal Furniture is also focused on speed to market across all business channels. By streamlining manufacturing processes and investing in supply chain efficiency, the company aims to meet the growing demand for its products and continue its growth trajectory.

“We are aggressively tightening our manufacturing supply chain,” Lovegrove said. “We have been spending a lot of time on the factory floor on both sides of the world and implementing new initiatives to ensure we can deliver quality and efficiency as we continue to scale these businesses. This is one of the most significant initiatives I have undertaken since joining Universal last spring, and I’m excited to see how this strategy will help us further deliver on our promises to our customers.”

Customers can learn more about Universal Furniture’s RTS program during High Point Market by visiting its showroom located at 101 S. Hamilton.
