Theodore Alexander today announced it will unveil the Alexa Hampton Collection at the spring High Point Market. Comprehensive in scope and design, the Alexa Hampton Collection includes over 120 new pieces presented in 4,130-square feet of inspiring showroom space.
Theodore Alexander President, Neill Robinson, notes: “Alexa Hampton is a modern design icon. The creative collaboration behind this collection has been amazing, bringing Alexa’s ideas and energy, and pairing them with Theodore Alexander’s formidable manufacturing expertise. Like Alexa, the collection is sophisticated but approachable; elegant and inviting. It has design provenance, but still manages to feel entirely fresh. The Alexa Hampton Collection is perfectly in step with the needs and desires of today’s designers and shoppers.”
Hampton concurs on the quality of the partnership, adding, “I love a blank sheet of paper and the chance to create something new. Design is always about individual vision as well as collaboration and partnership. It’s been a no-boundaries design process with Theodore Alexander, an amazing creative adventure. In fact, I’ve felt a bit like a kid in a candy shop with Theodore Alexander’s support and enthusiasm and I think it shows in the collection.”
Three principles guided Alexa Hampton Collection development, overlapping and intertwining amongst the 120+ pieces.
"I wanted my collection to contain both classic essentials that designers can turn to time and time again as well as unique statement pieces that function like jewelry," Hampton says. "I am a lifelong student of design and am always plucking ideas from art, architecture, antiques and travel. I like to apply a functional pragmatism to these ideas because I believe that good design is not only beautiful but also serves a purpose. I saw an opportunity with Theodore Alexander and wanted to capitalize on their almost boundless manufacturing capabilities with this new collection. No material was out of reach, no finish too complicated, and no metalwork too fine. I am thrilled and proud of our collaboration and look forward to its launch."
Hampton is a well-established yet timeless voice in the world of design. An author and entrepreneur, Hampton is routinely included in coveted A-lists and top designer roundups, including the prestigious AD100. She is also head of Mark Hampton, LLC, the design firm founded by her father over 40 years ago.
