Following the positive reception of the Tamara Day by Spectra Home collection rollout at October High Point Market, Spectra Home is expanding the collection to include more family-friendly upholstery. The new offerings include sectionals, sofas, chairs, benches and ottomans covered in fresh fashion-forward fabrics and supple leathers. Experience the entire collection in the Spectra Home showroom, 200 N Hamilton, #213, April 13-17.

“Tamara’s collection is a good fit for our retail partners’ needs and what their customers are looking for,” stated Jim Telleysh, President of Spectra Home. “Their customers want furniture that not only looks good and is comfortable but can stand up to the everyday treatment from pets and kids. We used durable fashion and performance fabrics along with top-grain leathers and blend down cushions for comfort. Designers and retailers can select from over 183 fabrics along with welts and nailhead accents through our Custom Design Program.”

While in the Spectra Home showroom visitors are invited to stop by and see The Chair of Hope. Last Market showroom patrons wrote their special healing intentions on fabric and the Tamara Day by Spectra Home Meyer Chair has been upholstered in it. This chair, infused with hopeful, helpful energy, will be raffled off at the April Market with the proceeds benefitting The Common Thread for The Cure Foundation. “In addition to the chair we are still committed to donating a portion of the proceeds from the Tamara Day by Spectra Home collection to the Common Thread for the Cure Foundation to help provide financial grants to those battling breast cancer in the home furnishings and design industries,” added Jim Telleysh, president of Spectra Home. Recliners

Spectra Home is also expanding its comfort seating selections to include transitional and traditionally styled recliners in fabrics and leathers, some with decorative nailhead trims, in High Point.

“Motion is king, whether it’s swivel or reclining, customers want chairs that are comfortable and have movement,” stated Telleysh. “Our swivel chairs are already best sellers, so we added more recliners in both push back and power models to meet the motion requests. The power recliners have hidden power buttons with USB outlets for multi-position reclining and charging electronics while relaxing. And with our Custom Design Program customers can select from over 185 fashion fabric and leather covers along with a variety of nailhead trim finishes to coordinate with their room decor.”

Sleep Sofas

In response to retailer needs, the company is launching a new sleep sofa line based on their two best bestselling sofas, Pasadena and Curry.

“We have had requests from several retail partners to add a bed option to our sofas,” Telleysh said. “They said that many of their customers have requested comfortable sofas with the ability to accommodate overnight visitors. To address that need we added a 5” memory foam mattress and an easy-open-and-close mechanism to our 75” Curry and our 85” Pasadena sofas. The sleep sofas will continue to have the blend down seats and hardwood frames that make them so comfortable. Plus, with our Custom Design Program designers and retailers can select from over 185 designer fabrics and leathers with contrasting throw pillows and welts at no additional charge along with nailhead trims in a variety of finishes.”

Interior design professionals are an important aspect of Spectra Home Furniture’s fashion-forward upholstery business. To further help designers complete their project visions, Spectra Home introduced their special order Custom Design Program with shorter lead times and more options including over 175 frames, 185 designer fabrics and leathers, nail head finish choices, contrasting throw pillows and contrasting welts at no additional charge. Plus, there are no order minimums.

Tamara Day, interior designer and host of Magnolia Network’s top hit show "Bargain Mansions," is known as the purveyor of glam and cozy lifestyle looks for families like hers. In her new partnership with Spectra Home, Day will focus on creating upholstered seating that fits into her practical family-friendly style, which is also affordable, attainable and aspirational. The Tamara Day by Spectra Home upholstery collection will debut at the October 2023 High Point Market.

Day grew up on a farm in the Midwest where she learned do-it-yourself hands-on skills from her dad. Her design career blossomed in 2008 when she purchased and renovated a 1980s 5,000-square-foot foreclosure that required a complete makeover to be livable for her and her family. She not only redesigned the house but did a lot of the work herself. To stay on budget, she shopped estate sales and refashioned furniture to fit her aspirations. Out of this experience, a new brand was born — Tamara Day Design — her interior design, furniture, décor and lifestyle business. Day’s home renovation attracted the attention of local magazines which led to her TV design career on "Bargain Mansions," now in its fifth season. On the show, Day and her crew transform large, old houses that she discovers at bargain prices into dream homes for families to love. Upholstery manufacturer, Spectra Home, is happy to announce that they have eliminated the freight surcharge on their entire line, including new Market introductions, effective October 1, 2022. The company reluctantly implemented the freight surcharge in response to the extraordinarily high ocean freight rates experienced worldwide.

“Over the past several months we have seen freight rates returning to more reasonable costs and we want to pass those savings onto our retail partners,” stated Jim Telleysh, senior vice president of Spectra Home. “Hopefully this surcharge free news will give our retailers the relief that they need to pass the savings on to their customers allowing our retailers to continue realizing their high sales margins they have experienced in recent years. Our retailers are our partners, and we want to help them as much as we can to be successful.”

Fashion-focused upholstery and accents resource Spectra Home has expanded its High Point showroom to accommodate the company’s continued growth of new products as well as being able to showcase a wider assortment of their bestselling collections. Spectra Home, located in the 200 N. Hamilton building, now includes more than 16,000 square feet of contiguous display space, created by adjoining their existing 9,500 square-foot showroom with an adjacent 6,500 square-foot space. Visitors can access the 2nd floor showroom, Space 211, via the North Court entrance of the 200 N. Hamilton building or through their streetside entrance on Fred Alexander Place during the High Point Market, April 2-6, 2022.

“This market we are excited to show 14 new groups including introductions for Christina @ HOME in collaboration with HGTV star, Christina Haack. Spectra Home's Quick Ship Program of in-stock domestically made upholstery ships in 48 hours from their High Point warehouse. Cued up for the High Point Market, Spectra Home has added eight new groups to the Spectra USA Quick Ship Program creating a total of eleven groups in all. Retailers and designers can see them in the Spectra Home Showroom, 200 N. Hamilton, 213 North, by appointment and during the October High Point Market.

“Since we are a vertically integrated factory-owned furniture company, our in-stock inventory is in a good position,” stated Jim Telleysh, senior vice president of Spectra Home. “We have upholstery and the Christina @ HOME collection of upholstery and accents on the water and arriving weekly. Then on top of that we have our Spectra USA Quick Ship domestic upholstery, so we are shipping to our customers on a regular basis. Customers can also pick up orders by appointment at our High Point warehouse.”

The eight new Spectra USA Quick Ship upholstered sofa and chair groups in eye-catching silhouettes are covered in popular neutral color performance fabrics for today’s lifestyles. Spectra Home also offers 45 custom fabric selections that ship to customers in 10-12 weeks on average.

“We have expanded the Christina @ HOME collection to include four upholstered bed frames with button tufted and tailored accents,” Telleysh continued. “In addition, we are showing two new chairs and side tables in the Christina @ HOME collection that can be used in the family room or bedroom.” The new fully upholstered beds are named after Hollywood starlets Dunaway, Garbo, Hepburn, and Loren. In keeping with the California theme the new chairs are Bakersfield and Modesto, and the new side tables are Hollywood and La Brea.
