The new space will feature a continuous expanse of windows with Hudson River views and an abundance of natural light, a private entrance, on-site food and drink options, as well as access to an outdoor terrace on the building’s 10th floor for events and gatherings.

The location will offer comforts and amenities to help ensure attendees and exhibitors that they will have a good experience. With a 30 percent increase in space from past shows, the venue will provide ample room for an expanded array of exhibitors and an enhanced experience for attendees, company officials said.

“We began our search for a permanent new home in earnest last year, and we needed a space that could carefully balance complex needs,” says Jesse James, Founder and Show Director, Shoppe Object. “The venue we were seeking didn’t exist, so we set out to find a way to create it, and a broad search brought us to every corner of the city until a conversation sparked with the perfect partner in Starrett-Lehigh.

“I’ve known and loved this building for years, and it truly ticks all our boxes. It’s an ideal location in a vibrant neighborhood that answers the call of our customers, and our custom footprint gives us room to welcome more great brands into our community, while maintaining the intimacy, the energy, and the careful curation that’s at the heart of what we do.”

The Starrett-Lehigh Building stretches from 26th to 27th streets between 11th and 12th avenues. Constructed in 1931 and once a manufacturing hub, the city landmark is undergoing a transformation into a modern creative space with state-of-the-art amenities.

The new location is strategically situated just a few blocks south of Hudson Yards and within walking distance from the Javits Center, positioning Shoppe Object at the heart of Manhattan’s West Side. It’s adjacent to the High Line, the Gallery District and Hudson River Park, providing access to New York City’s cultural and commercial landmarks.

“The move to this iconic New York venue enables continued growth, as the show has experienced with each edition since its launch,” says Dorothy Belshaw, President of Shoppe Object’s parent company, ANDMORE. “We are fortunate that the industry has responded with such enthusiasm to the vision and vibe of Shoppe Object. The goal for 2025 is to enrich our scale and scope while maintaining the unique community and experience that Jesse and his team have created.”

Starrett-Lehigh Building will streamline Shoppe Object’s operations into a single location, enhancing efficiencies and delivering a consolidated experience for the industry. The move marks a return to the show’s West Side roots, with a focus on creating a singular, unbeatable destination for the best in home and gifts.

The 2025 winter edition will take place at its new location Feb. 2–4. Shoppe Object will return to High Point Market Oct. 26–29, 2024, on the third floor of historic Market Square.

Tue, 15 Oct 2024 11:37:41 +0000 wgoodson 8426 at https://www.furniturelightingdecor.com Shoppe Object NYC Wraps Up Summer 2024 https://www.furniturelightingdecor.com/shoppe-object-nyc-wraps-summer-2024 Shoppe Object NYC Wraps Up Summer 2024 wgoodson Mon, 08/19/2024 - 09:44

Shoppe Object has concluded its Summer 2024 edition by marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory. This season’s show saw a 13 percent increase in exhibitors and a 10 percent increase in unique buyer attendance as compared to last year, highlighting the event’s expanding influence in the design community. Notably, 22 percent of exhibitors were international, underscoring the show’s global appeal and reach.

“Our summer shows are always fun, filled with bright colors for the season ahead, and our annual Shoppe Object Show Boat cruise around New York Harbor was the best one yet, with a joy and energy that truly reflects the spirit of our community,” said Jesse James, Founder and Creative Director of Shoppe Object.

This year’s show featured an array of activations and initiatives across its two locations. At Skylight at Essex Crossing, the Nourish space, Dr. Maria Geyman — a Vogue contributor and founder of Masha Tea — presented a curated collection of beauty and gourmet products. Additionally, The Shoppe Object Global Artisan Project, in collaboration with ByHand Consulting, highlighted global artisan goods. The Live Collage sessions by James Gallagher further engaged attendees.

Meanwhile, Pier 36 highlighted the innovative works of the Artist of the Season, Diane Vaquerano, whose creativity left a lasting impression. The area also featured Ukraine Designs, showcased under the banner. Further, TradewithUA emphasized Ukrainian craftsmanship and sustainability.

Serving as a hub for emerging designers to present their new concepts, the American Design Club Incubation Space featured a diverse range of innovative American designers, offering attendees the chance to explore a selection of ceramics, furnishings, accessories and more. Both locations were unified by the Black Lives Matter Action Initiative (BLMAI), reinforcing Shoppe Object’s commitment to social justice and inclusivity within the design industry.

As Shoppe Object looks to the future, changes are on the horizon. Summer 2024 was the final show to be hosted at Skylight at Essex Crossing and Pier 36; February 2025 will see the event move to a new, yet-to-be-announced location in New York City.

“This show was a particularly meaningful one for us as our last edition on the Lower East Side,” James said. “We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to answer the call of our customers, setting the stage for thoughtful growth ahead in 2025, while maintaining a high level of curation all under one roof. We’re beyond excited for what’s to come!”

Up next, Shoppe Object will return to High Point’s Historic Market Square Oct. 26-29. This edition will feature curated programming by Blue Spiral 1, a renowned gallery from Asheville, NC.
