The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has announced Fall Market musical guests Barenaked Ladies will perform at Center Stage on Sun., Oct. 15.

Comprised of four musicians and longtime friends, the popular Canadian band is known for its upbeat musical stylings and playful, original lyrics, producing hit singles like “If I had $1,000,000” and “Pinch Me.” Fans will also recognize the musical theme composed and performed by Barenaked Ladies for the long-running TV sitcom, “The Big Bang Theory.”

The band has earned multiple Grammy nominations over the course of their career, including for "One Week," which debuted in the number three position in the U.S. before earning the top spot on The Billboard Hot 100 only two weeks later, this chart topper was additionally nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in 1999.

Barenaked Ladies has sustained its appeal to audiences with wit, humor and charm for more than three decades. The group just wrapped a seven-week North American tour. Their latest singles “Lovin’ Life” and “Too Old” are from their forthcoming album scheduled for later this year.

The evening concert is open to registered High Point Market attendees. A valid Fall '23 Market pass is required for entry. Doors open at 6:30pm with the concert beginning at 7pm. Early entry for buyers starts at 6:15pm. No one under the age of 15 will be allowed entry. Complimentary food and beverage will be provided.

A first-ever HPMKT Selfie Pavilion, presented by StyleRow, launches within the Center Stage area at High Point Market to remain open throughout Fall Market.

StyleRow, a unique trade-only platform serving the luxury interior design industry, has enlisted top High Point Market exhibitor brands including Baker, Global Views, Universal, Jaipur Living, Mitzi, Julian Chichester, and others, for furnishings vignettes designed to serve as colorful backdrops for Market attendees to take selfies.
To kick off the HPMKT Selfie Pavilion opening, StyleRow will host a “HPMKT Kickoff Party” and give away a trip to Paris. Scheduled for Friday, Oct. 21, from 4:30 to 6 pm, Market guests are invited to join StyleRow for light refreshments and the opportunity to mingle with the featured brands and designers. The pavilion is open daily during Fall Market for all registered Market attendees to explore the eye-catching installations, create their own Instagrammable moments. and learn more about the participating designers and brands.

Center Stage is a premiere outdoor entertainment, educational, and hospitality venue located between Showplace and the Transportation Terminal, featuring a variety of events for Market attendees. On Saturday at 4:30 pm, the Scott Brothers will host “Drew and Jonathan’s Game Night,” and musical acts are lined up for the evenings of Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23, in addition to live music at lunch Saturday Oct. 22 through Monday, Oct. 24.

The popular and well-tracked Center Stage area, located central to High Point’s Market District, will reset this Spring Market as a pop-up park open to all attendees. Offering a connection point for networking, seating areas for quick breaks between showroom visits, and various programming opportunities, the space will open on Friday, April 1.

Home to a number of activations throughout the years, Center Stage is a large outdoor area in between Showplace and the Transportation Terminal. It is historically well-known for Saturday and Sunday evening concerts, but has also hosted daytime programming such as Sustainability Stories, Design Oasis, and Crypton Patio, among others.

The open-air space will transform this April into a garden party inspired park, complete with custom floral wall installation by artist Shane Friesenhahn of The Botanical Mix. Market guests are invited to experience Shane’s live installation throughout the day on Friday, April 1. The backdrop will then remain throughout Market, offering inspirational scenery for both the park and guest selfies alike.

Live music will offer ambience throughout the lunchtime hours, with seating available for those enjoying the nearby food trucks. On Saturday and Sunday evenings, Eats & Beats returns to offer musical entertainment and complimentary catering. Center Stage will welcome Jukebox Rehab on Saturday evening and Shelby J on Sunday evening.

Several covered seating areas will be available for visitors to enjoy thanks to sponsors Culp and Violino. On Saturday, April 2, Campania will welcome special guest Carson Kressley to Center Stage at 5pm for a meet and greet and tour of their garden accessories incorporated into the design of the space.

Local company Friendship Plant Co. will be on hand Saturday through Monday to offer Market guests the opportunity to take home or gift a new mini succulent friend, complete with tiny box for portability and easy traveling. Sherwin-Williams will host the Saturday event, gifting plant souvenirs to all who stop by.

Stars Under the Stars, the popular series of events at High Point Market, is offering two unique nights of entertainment at Spring Market, April 6 - 10, 2019.

On Saturday, April 6, Party Of The Year will grace Center Stage. Famous for their pitch-perfect homage to Queen’s Night at the Opera as Black Jacket Symphony, this talented group of musicians re-formed as Party Of The Year to meet their fans demands for more music. They’re sure to crank up a fun selection of songs. Don’t forget your dancing shoes – this band will bring out your best moves.

On Sunday, April 7, enjoy a fusion of melodic rock, pop, folk and country as Gin Blossoms takes Center Stage. In addition to hit tunes such as “Until I Fall Away,” “Found Out About You,” “Hey Jealousy,” “Allison Road,” “Till I Hear It From You,” “Follow You Down,” and “As Long As It Matters,” they’ll also bring some new material from their 2018 release, “Mixed Reality.” So, get ready to relive some great memories – and make some new ones.

Doors open for both nights at 7:00 p.m. at Center Stage, located next to the Transportation Terminal. Early entry for market-goers who have been issued a buyer pass will begin at 6:45 pm.
