The Sustainable Furnishings Council is now accepting entries for its second annual #GetYourGreenOn competition that recognizes sustainable choices in residential interior design.
Both SFC members and non-members can enter the competition by the June 23 submission deadline. Qualifying entries cover residential interior design projects completed between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017 and must feature at least one product from an SFC-member manufacturer or supplier. Entrants must also take SFC’s pledge to ask “What’s it made of?” as part of the council’s campaign to encourage supply chain transparency.
The categories this year are Shared Spaces, Private Spaces and Outdoor Spaces, with two project cost classifications for each: $30,000 and Under and $30,001 and Above. A winner and a finalist will be named for each category, and one entrant will win the grand prize Design Excellence Award.
“Designers are in an ideal position to move the needle in pollution prevention, supporting healthy environments both inside and outside the home,” says SFC Executive Director Susan Inglis. “#GetYourGreenOn gives designers a way to show off their commitment, as well as their design skills. We are excited about the difference the ‘What's it made of?’ query can make, and we’re very pleased to be offering tools and information to help the design community.“
Award winners and finalists will be announced in the fall. Entry instructions can be found here.
