Planning for the second Vacation Rental Design Summit is underway. The three-day event will unfold in High Point, April 10-12, 2024, and once again, High Point by Design (HPxD) is partnering with High Point Market Authority to produce the event which precedes the official opening of Spring Market.
VRDSummit 2 will return to historic Congdon Yards – this time taking over the third floor of The Factory which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology-enabled education spaces, ergonomic seating, and a collection of conference rooms ideal for smaller group learning. The boutique setting is more intimate and affords a roster that includes in-depth breakout sessions, peer mentoring, and a dedicated vendor gallery.
“Every member of our core team fell hard for this space because it is beautifully appointed, very comfortable, and allows us to add new learning opportunities to the schedule that we could not do at the first Summit,” said Jane Dagmi, HPxD Managing Director. “We think attendees and vendors will absolutely love experiencing this space.”
Leading with the tagline “Ordinary isn’t Profitable,” VRDSummit 2 will focus on elevating design business practices, sourcing and the guest experience, as well as making clear the value designers bring when working with property managers and investors.
“We know there is a need for this type of education and community in the vacation rental design world,” says interior designer Jessica Duce, cofounder of VRD Summit and Vacation Rental Designers Collective. “Designers educated in the vacation rental design space have the ability to curate spaces that appeal to guests, that perform well for maintenance, and improve the bottom line for owners and investors.”
Designers will learn from the success of their colleagues as well as investors, property managers, and industry leaders. Professionals who thrive in the short-term rental space and/or have a particular skill that lends itself to that industry are invited to apply to speak at VRD Summit 2. More than 200 design professionals attended the first Vacation Rental Design Summit in April 2023 and 89% went onto attend High Point Market. Drawing designers from over 32 states and Canada, the High Point Market Authority reported that of the buyers who attended the Summit, 46% of them were new to High Point.
