Shayla Copas, CEO of Shayla Copas Lifestyle and award-winning interior designer, author, and licensed product designer, welcomes the addition of her husband, Scott Copas to serve as COO of the Shayla Copas Lifestyle brand.
For over four decades, Scott Copas has worked for Arkansas-based Baldwin & Shell Construction Company. Beginning as an estimator, Copas ascended to the position of President and CEO in 2014. Under Scott’s leadership as CEO, Baldwin & Shell saw its sales grow from $80 million to over $300 million. He will leave a legacy of deep ethics and a high standard of accountability.
Recently, Scott Copas’ expertise has been recognized by the media as one of the state’s Top 50 Influential Leaders in Arkansas for 2022 as well as one of the Top 250 Executives in the state for the second year running. Representing the design and construction industry, he held the position of Co-Chairman of the legislative Joint Committee on Education Facilities. Scott is also a past chairman and board member for the Arkansas Contractor’s Licensing Board, a lifetime National Director of the Associated General Contractors of America, past member of the advisory board for the University of Arkansas School of Architecture, current member of the UALR Construction Management Advisory Board, and an ex-officio Board Member of the ADPSAFT since its establishment in 2005. Scott also is a past Chairman of the Fifty For The Future, Little Rock.

In January 2022, Scott will bring his experience and talent as a business developer to Shayla Copas Lifestyle as its COO. He will oversee the company’s multi-division operations. Including the nationally recognized interior design company headed by Shayla and its comprehensive lifestyle brands including Shayla Copas Interiors, Shayla Copas Travel, Shayla Copas Collections, Copas & Co Construction Consulting, and The Hive Marketing & Public Relations.

Shayla Copas has compiled an extensive list of luxury interior design clients all while adding the new pillars to her brand. As a lifestyle expert with a love of helping people, Shayla has recently introduced lifestyle licensed product design, design focused luxury travel, and construction focused marketing to her constellation of products and services. As author of Four Seasons of Entertaining, Shayla is currently working on a second book, to be published in 2023.

Shayla and Scott share a passion for helping people, and have been recognized for their contribution to philanthropic causes. As Scott explains, “Giving back to the community by harvesting the fruits of our success is extremely important to both of us.” Together, they have chaired several fundraising events and have helped raise over $4 million for local causes, including the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas and Easter Seals. Shayla earned the Philanthropist of the Year Award from the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas in 2017, while Scott is the recipient of the 2021 Spark Stars Museum of Discovery Award. The couple also were recognized with the 2015 Distinguished Citizen Award from KARK, the Department of Human. Services and the office of the Governor for the State of Arkansas.
