Surya President Satya Tiwari has been selected as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award for the Southeast region. The award recognizes business leaders who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Surya has grown from $2.7 million in sales in 2004 to $116 million in 2016 under Tiwari’s leadership. Last year, the company moved into its new corporate headquarters and distribution center, which houses 500 employees and stocks more than 60,000 products. Since 2010, Tiwari has added new product categories each year including pillows, throws, bedding and wall decor.
