Luxury lighting and decor brand Regina Andrew Detroit has turned its talents to seating this fall to introduce a large selection of upholstered furniture. The collection includes more than 30 pieces, many of them made in the U.S., designed for extreme comfort with materials that enhance the lounging experience. The new collection will debut at High Point Market.
The upholstery collection includes sofas and chairs that are perfect for mixing and matching throughout a home. Pieces in the collection have a luxurious feeling with crowned cushions. The overall atmosphere is current but with references to classic shapes like the time-honored tuxedo style and a Charles of London arm. Fabrics are mainly neutrals– beautiful linens and boucles, with the occasional hide, in shades of off-white— and nearly all are performance based, featuring fibers from polyester, linen and cotton to olefin and acrylic.
“Our upholstery pieces have the design aesthetic that is essential to our brand, but more importantly, they have a cushy, sink-in feeling that effects contentment,” said Carla Regina, Co-founder and CCO of Regina Andrew Detroit. “We focused on making each element of the designs desirable and comfortable but without extraneous decorative details that get in the way of true relaxation.”
Sofas
An upholstery collection should be judged by the comfort and design integrity of its sofas, and the options in Regina Andrew Detroit’s new collection rise to the occasion. With designs that are both stylish and luxuriously soft, the sofas enhance the design aesthetic of a room while also providing the most comfortable seat in the house.
The Camden Slip Sofa has a removable striped linen slipcover, giving a distinctive French farmhouse feeling. The loose bench seat and singular back pillow are non-welted. The sofa is completed with two side bolsters and a waterfall skirt.
The Ashton Sofa is a tuxedo design, complementing the evening’s aperitif or a weekend cup of tea with classic style and modern comfort. The sofa’s back and inside arms are tufted and the piece is set on turned, natural oak legs with casters. An overstuffed bench seat in lush, green olive velvet upholstery and arms outlined with brass nailhead details lend an air of sophistication to any room.
Bringing a more casual vibe to the collection, the Luca Sofa invites sitters to sink into its cushions while maintaining a luxurious seating experience. Inspired by contemporary European design, the overstuffed single-cushion back pillow and bench cushion are perfect for lounging. Rounded track arms and cylindrical natural oak legs have clean lines. Luca’s bone-white performance fabric can handle any traffic sent its way. The perfectly upholstered back of the sofa makes it ideal for floating in a room.
No upholstery collection is complete without a sectional. The Oslo Sectional is a modern modular sectional design with a laid-back California contemporary look. The thick and chunky, almost square and comfortably firm seat cushions have jumbo self-welting. The bone-white, nubby performance fabric increases the comfort level by eliminating worries about stains. Versatile modular sections in the sofa allow for it to be designed to fit a living room, den, media room or office.
Chairs
Upholstered chairs are an important component of any collection because of their versatility across multiple rooms. Chairs in Regina Andrew Detroit’s new collection do not disappoint, with styles that include swivel functionality, tailored details and most importantly, high comfort. The Bethany Chair is a swivel rocker that adds a clean and modern look that belies the comfort afforded by the loose, cloudlike cushions and swivel rocking motion. Complete with soft, removable slipcovers, Bethany is a blissful sitting experience wrapped in a modern wardrobe.
Continuing the swivel functionality is Julep, a Deco-influenced chair featuring a rounded back with a tightly upholstered circular seat that skirts the floor. Julep is plumply upholstered in crisp white fabric and finished with a pair of overstuffed decorative pillows. The Alfie Chair, also a swivel option, is sophisticated, handsome and a bit clubby. The fully upholstered, hair-on-hide modern design features a tight seat and back with gently sloping arms.
The Regina Andrew Detroit upholstery collection also features more traditional chair styles. Gwen has a classic Charles of London arm and exposed, turned natural oak legs on brass casters. The tight back and loose cushion seat with micro welt are covered in a terracotta-colored chenille upholstery. Handsome and tailored, the Leo chair gives off a rebellious vibe with a loose seat and back cushions and sleek track arms. The chair has a signature double flange welt on the cushion and frame and is finished with a removable khaki suede slipcover.
