ALA Women in Lighting Leadership Nominations
Nominations are open for the ALA's Women in Lighting Leadership Award.

The American Lighting Association’s Women in Lighting (WIL) Committee has announced that nominations are open for its 4th Annual Women in Lighting Leadership Award (WILLA). The 2022 award will be presented to a deserving leader in the industry during the June 22 to 25, 2022, Lightovation show at Dallas Market Center. The annual WILLA recognizes one individual for her role in at least two of the following activities within the past two years:

  • Achievement/leadership in the lighting industry
  • Support of the American Lighting Association (ALA)
  • Mentoring of other women in the lighting industry
  • Devotion to their community through philanthropy, volunteer work, or outstanding active support/participation

The recipient must be a member of the ALA, nominated by an ALA member, and voted upon by the WIL Committee. The 2021 WILLA recipient was Bulbrite President Cathy Choi. Previous recipients include Nora Lighting Executive Vice President Jilla Farzan and Lighting Etc. founder Norma Cooper. WILLA nominations are accepted year-round with 2022’s round of nominations officially kicking off during ALA’s Virtual Symposium on Nov. 1, 2021. Nominations will continue to be accepted through Jan. 31, 2022. Visit LightingWomen.com to enter any deserving individual’s name.

WIL is hosting dynamic speaker Christina Irene during the Virtual Symposium at 4:45 p.m. CDT on Nov. 1, followed by networking breakouts and exciting product giveaways.
