Nationwide lighting distributor Ferguson has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Minka Group, subject to regulatory approval, the company has announced.
Minka will continue to operate as it always has and will be business as usual, according to Christine Dwyer, Senior Director of Communications & Public Relations for Ferguson. “We are excited to welcome Minka’s management team and associates to Ferguson and continue building on the company’s long-standing success in the decorative lighting industry,” she said.
Minka Group brands include George Kovacs, Metropolitan Lighting Fixture Co., minkaAire, Ambience, Minka Lavery and The Great Outdoors. It sells to lighting showrooms and national accounts. Among its recent launches was a new lighting collection with interior designer Robin Baron this year.
Ferguson is a value-added distributor focused on residential, non-residential, new construction and repair, maintenance and improvement (RMI) end markets and based in Newport News, VA. Ferguson operates more than 1,600 locations nationwide and in Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
