Two Modern Forms designer Smart Fans, Tip-Top and Renegade, won Lighting & Homes for Tomorrow (LHFT) Competition awards for delivering a compelling value proposition. The competition is designed to help drive the adoption of efficient, connected products that demonstrate interoperability, reliability, and simplicity to realize the CEE (Consortium for Energy Efficiency) Integrated Home Vision. Both revolutionary smart fans submitted won awards in the category of connected lighting, controls, and ceiling fan products.

“We are proud to again be recognized in the LHFT Competition, this time for innovations revolutionizing the ceiling fan industry,” explained Shelley Wald, Co-CEO of Modern Forms and WAC. “We humbly thank the CEE and the judges for their high acclaim for our smart fans’ usability, interoperability, connectivity, installation, technology performance, and design. This award further motivates us to find new spaces to make a difference.”

Classic aerodynamic forms meet a modern aesthetic with the Tip-Top Smart Fan by Modern Forms. The wet rated design and versatile styling allow the fan to cool a sun-facing porch, or a stylish living room for a consistent design story. Tip-Top is crafted with stainless steel hardware, ABS blades and includes a 13-watt LED luminaire that features 1110 lumens and offered in 2700K, 3000K or 3500K optional color temperatures. Available in three finishes: titanium silver blades with brushed aluminum housing, matte black blades and housing, and matte white blades and housing, in 44-inch and 52-inch sizes.

The other winner, the Renegade Smart Fan, is an industrial modern design that performs indoors and out. Designed with refined proportions and generous scale, judges note its upscale aesthetic and powerful air movement. Crafted with stainless steel hardware and weather-resistant composite blades, it includes a 20-watt LED luminaire that deploys 1600 lumens and is offered in 2700K, 3000K or 3500K optional color temperatures. Available in four finishes: weathered wood blades with graphite housing; matte black blades and housing; matte white blades and housing; and barn wood blades with oil rubbed bronze housing. Blades are pitched at 14° and on high, the 66-inch version kicks out over 10,000 cubic feet per minute with the 52-inch counterpart moving over 7,000 on high.

“We are grateful to be recognized for two of our many thoughtful products that intuitively incorporate connected functionality,” continued Wald. “We have found that our customers appreciate this higher level of comfort, convenience, and energy savings.”

Both feature Wet Rated weather-resistant aluminum housings and finishes while a powerful DC motor inside runs smooth, quiet and 70% more efficient than traditional AC fans. For unprecedented control, connect with the exclusive Modern Forms app via Wi-Fi from anywhere. Energy efficient LED luminaires by WAC round out both designs. Both integrate seamlessly with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Control 4, Josh.ai, Samsung SmartThings, and ecobee, using voice command for energy savings and in-home innovation to turn fans and luminaires on/off, change speeds, reverse blade rotation, and dim lights beautifully. Scalable Bluetooth remote controls are included for local access and instant everyday control; optional wall controls are available for 3 or 4 way control installations. Patent pending functionalities allow for multiple fans on one circuit as never before and much more.
