Loloi Rugs has made a combined $100,000 donation to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to support humanitarian aid efforts for the people of Ukraine.
"Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security, and innocent civilians never deserve to suffer," said Amir Loloi, founder and owner of Loloi Rugs. “We want to help ease the burden of the Ukrainian people as they endure the current conflict and crisis, and we encourage others in our industry to help as well.”
The IRC says more than 160,000 people are reported to have been displaced internally within Ukraine since February 24 and upwards of a million have been forced to flee across borders into Poland and Europe. The IRC is on the ground working with local partners in both Poland and Ukraine to mobilize life-saving resources for families forced to flee their homes.
Similarly, the ICRC is active in Ukraine, responding to urgent humanitarian needs by providing vita infrastructure, support to health facilities with medicine and equipment, and support to families with food and hygiene items.
