1. Lighting can quickly and easily set the mood of a room. The following was added to this home to create an aesthetic interest and vibe: layered lighting options to offer a wider range of ambiance settings, tailored decorative fixtures with varying outputs, LED lightbulbs and variable textured finishes to further play with the lighting options.
2. We selected furnishings in varying shapes, sizes and textures that add a juxtaposed sense of elegance and strength. The dining room combines a softer color palette and a series of chairs that have a contoured shape with resilient timbers in a rough finish. Our goal was to achieve balance in a noticeable way.
3. The layout in every room is important because it offers its inhabitants the option to sit, stand, mingle, relax or move freely throughout the space. Our goal within this home was to maximize seating options around the fireplace, a natural focal point, in a way that will promote people to sit and connect to one another. Just as groups naturally start to tell stories at campfires, our hope was to promote similar interactions within the living room.
