Luxury bedding manufacturer Kingsdown Inc. is once again turning heads at the Las Vegas Market with dynamic window displays, according to a news release. This season, the Style & Substance window welcomes buyers to Space C-1401 with the visual power of bright summer flowers — perfect timing to showcase its newest product line, K2L.
“Our goal this market with ‘Summer of Love It’ and brightening up the window with punchy, summer-themed colors like orange, purple and pink was to be different enough to stop people in their tracks,” said Mike James, Chairman of Kingsdown, “just as I was stopped in my tracks years ago by an orange mattress at a very famous department store. We want to encourage retailers to think about doing something out of the ordinary, and perhaps seasonally focused like other consumer products industries do, to capture the attention of consumers.”
The Style & Substance window features three queen-sized mattresses from the Vintage Couture collection covered in solid orange, purple and pink, framed by a garden of flowers running across the bottom of the outside glass, and a series of bouquets highlighting the wall above the beds, which has been tufted to resemble a large headboard.
“In an industry long dominated by white rectangles, Kingsdown stands apart with forward-looking style and innovative, handcrafted product lines,” said Frank Hood, CEO, Kingsdown. “And in order to stand apart, we continue to push the envelope.”
The showroom’s opposite front window showcases the brand’s newest product line, K2L, the latest version of the popular K2 by Kingsdown line, incorporating latex with two collections and six models to achieve comfort with a buoyant feel, company officials said.
“With latex, we’re able to achieve a specific feel that you can’t get from conventional foam,” Hood said. “Our customers have been asking for a latex collection, so the Las Vegas summer market feels like the ideal place to debut it.”
The K2 Latex line features a blend of natural latex with man-made materials, engineered for increased consistency and durability. Its pinhole design increases airflow and is more breathable than polyurethane foams, according to a news release.
“The new line provides a luxurious feel on the surface of the mattress that otherwise is difficult to achieve,” said Hood. “Since latex was being asked for, we decided to present it in a new version of one of our most popular lines.”
Kingsdown launched the original K2 line, which has the tagline of being “the Koolest Mattress in the World,” a year ago. This new line features six different models, varying in firmness and plushness. All models are foam-based, featuring a combination of Talalay Latex and cooling resilient gel foam for pressure relief.
For a refreshing feel, Kingsdown has integrated centi(GR)ade cooling strips to remove excess body heat, helping achieve a naturally comfortable temperature, company officials said. The three hybrid models use an individually wrapped 800 coil system, while foam models feature a motion base–conforming flex core with airflow channels.
All six models contain spacer and zippered surround cooling covers for improved ventilation. The K2 Latex line ranges from $2,799 to $3,199.
