Global rugs and textile furnishings company Jaipur Living will introduce two dynamic new collections with interior designer Nikki Chu during the upcoming High Point Market.

“The continued inspiration for my line is modern globalism,” Chu says. “It’s about tribal patterns that are reworked to be simplified and feel organic, but work in any space. I love playing with neutral colors and a neutral color palette.”

Origins by Nikki Chu is a fresh collection of exquisitely made, handwoven indoor-outdoor rugs. In easy-care polyester, Origins by Nikki Chu is available in a chevron, geometric, or trellis, chain and tiles design.

“What makes these so special,” Chu says, “is that they look completely like indoor rugs, and can change your entire outdoor world. Now that outdoor spaces are adding extra square footage to a home, furniture and accessory companies are making things that go both indoors and outdoors — from lighting all the way down to decorative accessories. So, I think now is the time to take advantage of making the outdoor space an extension of your home.”

The Origins by Nikki Chu collection can help homeowners do just that.

Her contemporary Mumbai collection features a luxuriant blend of wool and viscose in a textured, handwoven, flatweave rug. In trending blush and neutrals, these velvety, plush pile must-haves come in a banded, geometric design.

“This is what I call the perfect, textured solid,” Chu says of her Mumbai collection. “Anybody can layer this into their home with any decor style. Whatever color palette you have these are beautifully neutral rugs. The blush has a little bit of a neutral tone in it so it doesn’t read completely pink. It’s just a nice hit of color. These are a little bit of a mix between a Scandinavian and tribal pattern, and can go any way in terms of your decor style.”

The Ultra by Nikki Chu collection is adding a trio of contemporary poufs in sustainable wool, cotton and jute. Their bold, geometric designs make a statement in gray, black and cream.

Chu notes these poufs are a departure from her collection’s current sleek leather and quilted metallic offerings.

“I really had the idea to bring some texture and character to the pouf world. Taking some rugs that were flatweave and had a lot of character, had a lot of high-low applique to it and turning it into a pouf was the way to go. The whole collection is about layering texture and layering tone on tone, which is what I’m known for, and a lot of ivory, natural linen and black. These poufs are fun. They have a lot of personality. And I think they truly speak to who I am as a designer.”

Jaipur Living showroom 3300 will be open from 9 a.m to 6 p.m. during High Point Market beginning Oct. 12.
