Early bird registration for The Vacation Rental Design Summit is open. The boutique conference, presented by High Point by Design (HPxD) and High Point Market Authority (HPMA), unfolds April 10-12 in High Point at The Factory at Congdon Yards, preceding the official opening of Spring High Point Market. The $399 early-bird price runs through March 9.
Now in its second year, The Summit came about when interior designer Jessica Duce of JDuce Design and Vacation Rental Designers, pitched the idea to Jane Dagmi of High Point by Design. Dagmi loved the idea of exploring short-term vacation rental design and the two pulled together an equally passionate team and created a new industry event.
“Last year was a leap of faith. We knew there was interest in the subject, and we were thrilled with the response,” said Duce. “This Summit will expand on the nuts and bolts of creating a successful and profitable business. We have seen much data supporting revenue generation from well-designed rentals as well as growth for designers in this category. We are excited to take VRD Summit and our designers to the next level.”
Along with Dagmi and Duce, the Summit team includes Ashley Grigg from High Point Market Authority; Ericka Saurit of Saurit Creative and Marketing School for Creatives, wh0 oversees branding and messaging; and Elissa Bedwell of First Blush Web Design who presides over tech and supports communications.
There is also a VRDS Advisory Board that reviews content and adds a level of expertise to the production. The Board includes three interior designers — Rina Norwood of Boutique Auberge and Rina Norwood Design; Paula Oblen of Hotelements who is currently working with Bobby Berk on a luxury rental property; and premier real estate stager and short-term rental designer Nikki Watson of The Design Quad —plus STR industry leader Tyann Marcink Hammond of Branson Family Retreats and Touch Stay digital guidebooks.
The team is hard at work shaping the agenda which will unfold over the next month. Eventbrite link for tickets is here.
