Houzz Inc. has launched AutoMate, a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) tools powered by Houzz Vision AI technologies and generative AI models. AutoMate is integrated into Houzz Pro, its all-in-one project management and design software, to help pros save time and increase productivity by making it faster and easier to complete frequently performed tasks, according to a news release.
“At Houzz, we’re constantly evolving our tools and harnessing cutting-edge technology to help pros run even more efficient and profitable businesses. With AI, we saw the opportunity to automate manual tasks in our software, so we developed Houzz Pro AutoMate,” said Alon Cohen, Houzz Co-founder and CEO. “We continue to build out our suite of AI tools, bringing practical applications of the most relevant technology to this industry.”
In the Houzz Pro mobile app, AutoMate Assistant uses voice activation to help pros move their projects forward while in the field. The AutoMate Assistant can generate professionally formatted estimates for any project based on voice inputs from the pro, such as project type, size of the space, location, project scope or quality (high, medium, lower). The AI-generated estimates include an itemized list of labor and materials for the project that the pro can then edit as needed.
AutoMate Assistant can also help pros stay on top of their projects while on the jobsite or on the road, enabling voice-created and properly formatted notes, assignable tasks, daily logs, change orders, or time and expense entries. Plus, AutoMate Assistant can help pros find records and documents, start a room scan, and pull up directions to a jobsite using their voice and the Houzz Pro app.
For Houzz Pro Takeoffs, AutoMate AI makes on-screen measurements even faster and easier by automating manual tasks, helping pros turn bids around faster. When a pro uploads a set of construction plans, the Takeoffs AutoMate feature will scan them. Then, instead of having to click multiple times to identify the endpoints of a room area or wall segment, a pro can simply hover over the desired space, and with one click add the automatically measured wall or area to the measurement list.
Pros can also add counts with Takeoffs AutoMate by selecting the group they want to add, such as doors, and hovering over a door on the plan, then clicking once to add all of the doors on the plan to the measurement list. A takeoff can be done in a fraction of the time using AutoMate, company officials said.
AutoMate is available to Houzz Pro subscribers in the U.S. and Canada. Houzz Pro provides pros with cloud-based, AI-powered project management and design software that helps them to run their projects efficiently and profitably. Using the software, pros can manage their entire project lifecycle in one place including tools for estimates, 3D floor plans, selections, invoices, online payments and more.
