High Point Discovered, a blog and social media source for spotlighting the very best of High Point, has named Morgan White as its first executive director. White will oversee the daily operations of High Point Discovered as it evolves into a non-profit organization while working closely with the founder and board chair, Christi Barbour, partner and founder of Barbour Spangle Design.
“Morgan is the perfect person to take the High Point Discovered platform to the next level,” commented Barbour. “She has been a central figure on the project since its conception. Her passion for High Point and her educational background in organizational communication, along with her previous work experience, will continue to be a valuable asset to the organization as it continues to grow.” Prior to joining High Point Discovered White served as a field director for the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant and as executive director for the Miss Thomasville Organization.
According to White, “in working with this blog and social media platform I have discovered that one voice can really make a difference. I am often amazed at how a story shared across our community and global channels can impact a company’s success or instigate a groundswell of support for a city project. It is incredibly rewarding to share and spotlight the very best of what High Point has to offer. I am looking forward to working with the team as we expand the High Point Discovered platform and continue to explore and share what makes our city so special.”
