Fusion Designs has acquired Borkholder Furnitur for an undisclosed sum. Based in Goshen, IN, Fusion will assume management of Borkholder’s operations as of Jan. 1, 2020. Borkholder Furniture will complete all in-house orders until the end of the year.

Launched in 1993 by Noah and Margaret Bontrager, family-owned and -operated Fusion Designs has steadily grown into a noted solid wood casegoods manufacturer, specializing in dining room, bedroom, occasional and entertainment furniture. All product is built and finished by hand in its 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.

“The acquisition of Borkholder Furniture is a natural fit for us,” says Marcus Bontrager, President of Fusion Designs. “We have known Ola Yoder, chief executive of Borkholder’s parent company, Kountry Wood Products, for many years and have long admired the company’s reputation for high-quality designs and exceptional customer service.”

Bontrager notes, “Borkholder was one of the first solid wood furniture companies from the Midwest to make in-roads with independent dealers across the country, appealing to the style preferences of consumers on both the East and West Coasts. We intend to continue to build upon its loyal base of fans and expect this acquisition to help us further expand our presence as a valued resource for solid wood furniture for dealers across the country.”

“I’m confident that Borkholder is in the right hands to position it for ongoing success moving forward,” Yoder relates. “More importantly, Fusion has the resources, passion and dedication to excellence necessary to care for existing Borkholder’s customers and we expect the transition to be seamless.”
