Sapphires, rubies and emeralds — oh my! It’s no wonder the precious (and semi-precious) palette has popped up everywhere from fashion runways to floral arrangements this year—and pretty much every year since the Dark Ages. Of course, we might be slightly biased, but we think the latest jewel tones look best when added to a well-appointed decor mix.
Whether they’re hanging from the ceiling, hugging the wall or sitting on a self, rich, vibrant hues can’t help but rule the roost. Check out a few of our favorites.
Teal Blue: Jennaya chair—Moe’s Home Collection
Even the most elegant dining rooms can use a pop of color. A foolproof conversation starter, the Jennaya dining chair from Moe’s should do the trick. It’s hourglass figure and striking teal, polyester-velvet upholstery will have guests jockeying for their turn to take a seat.
To give the look even more royal cred, pair the stunning chair with accessories in teal’s complimentary color: rich, regal maroon.
Ruby Red: Stretch pendant—Vermont Modern by Hubbardton Forge
Thanks to its striking satin red finish, it’s not a stretch to say the Stretch pendant from Vermont Modern makes a statement. But that’s only the beginning. The design features four steel plates that reach more than four feet to hide the light source and create mesmerizing layers of shadow and light.
We love hanging the Stretch pendant in a stark black and white interior to create the ultimate, ruby red centerpiece.
Emerald Green: Float wall sconce — Articolo Lighting
Elongated proportions and a swooping brass stem place Articolo Lighting’s Float wall sconce on the A-list for refined style. But as sleek and sophisticated as its shape appears, the sconce’s gorgeous drunken emerald cylindrical glass is arguably the best thing about it. The embodiment of classic grandeur, Float can hold it’s own in more contemporary circles, as well.
To create a look that drips with understated luxury, mix the emerald green with other jewel tones like sapphire blue and shimmery gold.
Amber yellow: Wrap decorative accessory — SkLO Studio
Is it a bird? Is it a pretzel? No, it’s an amber yellow wrap object by SkLO. And though the decorative accessory’s sinuous shape may be hard to define, it’s certain to be the center of attention on a side table, a bookshelf, a buffet and—let’s be honest—pretty much anywhere it lands. Each SkLO wrap is made from a wound length of hand blown Czech glass tubing, so no two objects are exactly alike.
Style them alone or grouped together for a look you can’t look away from.
We saw a lot of these jewel tones continue to trend at October's High Point Market, but will they still be a favorite at the upcoming winter markets? Keep watching for our coverage of the upcoming markets in Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas to find out!
