This June at High Point Market, creative polymath Alfredo Paredes will launch his first dedicated furniture collection, in partnership with EJ Victor.
The debut collection includes sofas, sectionals, chairs and ottomans, as well as occasional, dining and coffee tables, desks, shelving, a console, a bar cabinet, and a bed. Evoking a cultured bohemian spirit, the collection references classic European furniture with a casual and contemporary American twist. Made almost entirely in the United States, the pieces are sculptural yet multifunctional, crafted out of Oak, Maple, Walnut, and Alder, with a unique palette of additional materials, including Negresco Stone, Black Pearl Stone and Seagrass. Luxurious details, such as Bullion Fringe, Woven Leather, and Pyramid Nailhead Trim round out the collection.
“It has been such a joy to design my first-ever furniture collection, under my own name, with EJ Victor,” Alfredo Paredes says of the new collection. “The incredible freedom and support their team provided me allowed this to be such a personal and enriching experience, and I’m thrilled to finally unveil this collection at High Point. I’m often drawn to antique furniture for its ability to evoke a sense of place and memory, and I wanted this collection to have a similar tone without feeling overly precious or decorative. The
pieces are imbued with a sense of history and narrative, but through a contemporary lens, with a real emphasis on functionality.”
This marks the first furniture collection that Paredes has launched under his own, eponymous studio, which he founded in 2019, following a 33-year-long-career at Ralph Lauren as lead Creative of the company. Much like his renowned interiors — including iconic spaces such as the Polo Bar, the Ralph Lauren Women’s and Home Flagship on Madison Avenue, Ralph Lauren St. Germain store in Paris and private residences from Los Cabos to Montauk to TriBeCa — this first furniture collection is characterized by a cinematic sensibility, sense of inviting luxury and understated sophistication.
Partnering with EJ Victor on the development of his first standalone furniture collection was a natural choice for Paredes, who collaborated with the North Carolina-based team for over a decade on the design and licensing of Ralph Lauren Home, overseen by Paredes during his tenure there.
“Alfredo’s vision for design is, simply put, amazing,” John Jokinen, CEO of EJ Victor, says of the collaboration. “He brings together architecture, interior design and furnishings with cohesive and inspiring sensibility. Alfredo’s first solo collection for EJ Victor will only be the beginning of a new and exciting era of fresh design for our company.”
The new collection will launch this June at High Point Market and be available to purchase on EJVictor.com.
