Dallas Market Center has been awarded the 2021 Trailblazer Award during the annual TSNN Awards presented by Trade Show News Network on December 2 at a gala event held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
In 2021, Dallas Market Center produced dozens of trade events that successfully balanced good health with good business while welcoming a record number of new attendees. The number of new buyers from retail stores and design agencies attending events for the first time in 2021 was up more than 40% versus 2019. In addition, the growth of attendees for Dallas shows had the strongest gains from the West, Midwest, and Southeast enhancing Dallas Market Center’s reputation as the fastest growing marketplace in the U.S.
The Trailblazer Award recognized the four trade events held in June 2021 at Dallas Market Center, which collectively attracted more buyers to the marketplace than in more than ten years.
"Without a doubt, Dallas Market Center June 2021 Markets were at the forefront of shows going back live and absolutely deserved the 2021 Trailblazer Award for demonstrating to the entire trade show industry that events could be held safely," said TSNN President Rachel Wimberly.
Heading into 2022, the market center’s momentum continues. New buyer applications are up more than 50% over previous years, and the marketplace will debut more than 50 new and expanding permanent showrooms as well as hundreds of new temporary exhibitors at its January events.
“Something special and historic is happening in Dallas,” said president and CEO Cindy Morris. “We are welcoming more buyers, and more exhibitors, who want a convenient, safe, and inspiring marketplace to help their business thrive. Thank you to TSNN for this honor, which we share with our exhibitors who have worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and supportive marketplace.”
Supporting the comfort, health and safety of all attendees, the market center continues measures that include recommending face coverings for all customers. Other efforts include enhanced cleaning with hospital grade products and hundreds of hand sanitizing stations. Along with these new steps, there are safety measures that are part of the design of the marketplace: open parking, large entryways, quick registration in multiple areas, wide hallways, multiple escalators to each floor, and showrooms with controlled access to allow for the appropriate distance between customers. Complete information is available on the front page of the website.
