The new Kristi Nelson for Chelsea House collection will debut at the spring High Point Market.

Taking homeowners on a “Grand Tour,” Chelsea House is launching Kristi Nelson for Chelsea House at High Point Market this April. The exclusive collection, designed by Kristi Nelson, principal KMNelson Design, LLC, encompasses furniture, lighting, accessories and mirrors inspired by history and travel. Select pieces will be on display in the Chelsea House showroom at 200 Hamilton Street in High Point from Thursday, March 31 - April 6. The launch reception will be held on Sunday, April 3, 4-7 PM.

Joining Chelsea House’s roster of prominent designers, this highly sought-after LA-based designer’s new collection showcases the diverse periods and places that have influenced her eye, tastes, and lifestyle philosophy.

“We are so excited to have Kristi as a part of our team,” said Pam Cain, President, Chelsea House. “Her designs exude an effortless luxury and a sense of joy and grace, much like Kristi herself. We’re excited to have the launch at the spring High Point market and look forward to having Kristi’s designs for years to come.”

The luxe, laid-back collection is perfectly suited to today’s style-blending interiors featuring four globally influenced design themes: Contemporary Neoclassical, Art Déco Influences, Grotto, and Nature’s Inspiration.

Contemporary Neoclassical conjures visions of Paris, Rome and Manhattan, Art Déco Influences is a nod to Nelson’s favorite London hotels. Grotto is a mini homage to the fantastical grottoes of Tuscan gardens and Nature’s Inspiration is informed by the Blue Ridge mountains and the Los Angeles lifestyle, evidenced through contemporary, organic forms and textured finishes.

“I’m thrilled that my first licensing deal is with Chelsea House!  As a brand, they have a very focused point-of-view that puts a fresh spin on classic and contemporary décor.  It’s crisp, fun, fashion-forward, yet sophisticated,” says Nelson. “As a company, Chelsea House values relationships, which I have experienced firsthand and greatly appreciate,” adds Nelson.

The collection is well-timed amidst the current renaissance of eclectic, sophisticated decor.

Having lived and traveled in Europe, Nelson has a great appreciation for the way Europeans honor historic architecture, art and antiques, yet are “always looking forward in their design,” says Nelson. “That mix of contrasts, just speaks to me,” explains Nelson.

Her philosophy on style is that it’s more interesting “when it mixes contrasts like sleek with organic, old with new, soft with edgy, to make a uniquely personal statement,” explains Nelson.

Honoring the past but living in the now, Nelson’s collection allows homeowners to define their unique style, as the designer believes interiors should “reflect who we are now while evolving as we do.”
