Charley Harold, owner and designer at Dear Charley Designs in Lexington, KY, has won the 2018 First Look at Last Look competition. Her family room photo wowed Facebook fans, racking up a significant amount of likes, and impressed the editors with its open, airy feel and use of natural materials.
Harold's design will be featured in the Last Look department of the January 2019 issue of Furniture, Lighting & Decor. This issue is particularly significant because, in addition to going to our 40,000 print and digital subscribers, it will also be available at the winter markets in Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas.
The Last Look department is the last department in the monthly issue of Furniture, Lighting & Decor. It features the work of an interior designer, who then explains three key parts of the design. Notable designers whose work has been featured in the department include Robin Baron, Corey Damen Jenkins and Michelle Workman.
The First Look at Last Look competition was open for residential interior designers from Nov. 1-15, 2018. Designers had the opportunity to upload a photo of their work to a Facebook event created on the Furniture, Lighting & Decor page. For two weeks, Facebook users voted by liking their favorite photos, and through likes and the editors' own decisions, a winner was chosen.
This is the second successful First Look at Last Look competition. Last year, designer April Force Pardoe won the competition.
Don't miss Harold's winning design in the January issue of the magazine.
