Furniture, Lighting & Decor magazine is now accepting entries and nominations for the 2019 Lighting Showroom of the Year Awards, which honor independent lighting retailers for excellence in showroom design. Celebrating its 10th year, the Lighting Showroom of the Year Awards are hosted in partnership with Dallas Market Center, which presents Lightovation ‒ the Dallas International Lighting Show.

The Showroom of the Year Awards are open to all independent lighting retailers. A panel of judges will evaluate entries on factors including merchandising displays, marketing and advertising, customer service and engagement, employee education and motivation, and community involvement.

“Each year, lighting retailers from around the country demonstrate their commitment to excellence through creative displays, standout service, and innovation that help advance the category,” says Nicole Davis, Editor-in-Chief of Furniture, Lighting & Decor. “The Lighting Showroom of the Year Awards honor those efforts and recognize the hard work and forward thinking of leading members of the industry.”

One Showroom of the Year winner will be named in each of three dollar-volume categories (annual revenue under $2 million, revenue under $5 million, and revenue $5 million and over) from a field of five finalists from that category. All 15 finalists are eligible for three specialty awards, including Outstanding Merchandising Display, Exceptional Community Involvement and Social Media Star.

Award finalists will be profiled in the May 2019 issue of Furniture, Lighting & Decor and online at FurnitureLightingDecor.com; winners will be announced during an evening reception during Lightovation on June 19, 2019.

“The Lighting Showroom of the Year reception is one of the highlights of Lightovation, showcasing and celebrating the exceptional work of lighting retailers,” says Cindy Morris, President and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “As the home of residential lighting and a proud supporter of retailers around the world, we are pleased to host the 10th annual event and to celebrate the industry.”

Showrooms can enter online at www.SOTYAwards.com. Anyone in the lighting industry is also able to nominate a store for consideration. Entries and nominations are due by February 28, 2019.
