Beatriz Ball has been short listed for Tableware International Awards of Excellence recognition at Ambiente in February. It is one of 148 brands entered and one of three finalists in the Metals category with its Oyster collection.
The winners in each category will be announced during a special awards event in Frankfurt. An international panel of 28 judges consisting of retailers, buyers, distributors and designers has made this preliminary selection.
The Oyster collection by Beatriz Ball is a sculptural celebration of the oyster shell, handmade in a highly polished metal alloy. The recently line extended Oyster serving bowls now come in four sizes.
“Mother nature is the ultimate designer and I get so much of my inspiration from the study of natural forms,” says Beatriz Ball, Founder, Owner and Designer of Beatriz Ball. “I used unique oyster shells as the models for each of my designs, so these serving pieces have an individuality and presence which makes them special.”
The Beatriz Ball collection includes fine metal serving trays, centerpiece bowls, ice buckets, pedestal platters, wine coolers and many gift items. They are made by hand in the company’s own foundry, one piece at a time, using the ancient art of sand-casting and are hand polished to a deep lustrous finish. Beautiful items in sustainable tropical hardwood include cutting boards and presentation platters with metal handles and contrasting design elements. Heavy duty luxury melamine products, glassware, ceramics, linens and acrylic drinkware are also included in the Beatriz Ball tableware assortment.
