The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation last week opened the call for nominations for the 2018 Hall of Fame.

All members of the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation are eligible to make nominations and second them through Feb. 1.

“If you know someone that you think is worthy of induction, this is your opportunity to nominate them for consideration by the Selection Committee,” says Bob Maricich, President of the foundation. “As a member of the foundation, this is your privilege.”

The foundation is looking for nominations of individuals who demonstrate continuing excellence and have made contributions that have changed the industry in any role.

To qualify for consideration, the individual must conduct business in the United States, have served in the industry for at least 15 years, have created a legacy as a positive influence and champion of the industry, should have achieved the pinnacle of their careers and are a least 60 years old. For posthumous nominations, the individual must have been deceased for at least 12 months prior to the date of the nomination.

During the five-month selection process, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee considers the list of nominees to determine who most exemplifies enduring excellence, superior accomplishments, innovation and creativity, and philanthropic generosity of their time, talents and resources.

The final selection is determined by a points-based system, with ballots cast individually and online by each of the seven selection committee members. The ballots are received and verified by the foundation’s accounting firm, Sharrard McGee.

To make a nomination, members can fill out the nomination form found at www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com and mail it to the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. 202 Neal Place, Suite 101, High Point, NC 27262. A print or a 300 dpi digital photo of the candidate must be enclosed and all nominations must be seconded in writing by another foundation member.

New inductees will be honored at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Induction Celebration on Oct. 14 during the Fall High Point Market.
