Hooker Furniture Corp. hosted a social media contest during the Spring High Point Market to give consumers insight into the latest design trends in the furniture industry.
The contest is part of an ongoing strategic social media campaign designed to enhance the company’s online marketing strategy to further engage with its trade customers and end consumers online. During Market week, retailers, interior designers and consumers were invited to vote via Facebook for their favorite Hooker Furniture, Sam Moore or Bradington-Young upholstered chair. Those who engaged with the contest post were then officially entered to win the grand prize of an exclusive new product that debuted at the show.
“This is the first Market we have opened up our social media contest to consumers, exposing them to what goes into the design process of some of their favorite pieces,” said Johne Albanese, Vice President of Corporate Marketing for Hooker Furniture.
In one week, the contest received 808 submissions via Facebook and Instagram. The winner was selected at random and was given the choice of three market introduction to choose from. As her prize, the winner, Cassandra Gray, a consumer from Cane Ridge, TN, chose to receive the brand-new Sam Moore Thiago Chair.
“The results were astounding, they truly demonstrated the power of social media and that our consumers and followers are eager to engage and explore our brands even further,” said Albanese. “We look forward to next market and continuing to grow our social media program within the industry and to consumers.”
